HENOCH-SCHONLEIN PURPURA(HSP)

HSP is a systemic variant of IGA nephropathy, causing a small vessel vasculitis.

Features of the disease: - Purpuric rash on extensor surfaces (typically on the legs), Flitting Polyarthritis, abdominal pain and nephritis.

Diagnosis: - Usually clinical. Confirmed with positive IF for IgA and C3 in skin or renal biopsy.

People may experience pain in abdomen and joints.

There is bloody discharge while passing stool and urine.

Diarrhoea, vomiting.

There is rash of small purplish spots or fever.
