Naevus Vasculosus It is also known as strawberry nacvus. It consists of dilated and immature capillaries lined by several layers of endothelial cells. Majority of the lesion appear during the first few months of life and are not seen at birth. The lesion initially grows till the age of 2-5 years, then starts regressing spontaneously and most of the lesions disappear without leaving any mark or sometimes leave areas of mild atrophy.
Clinically, a fully developed naevus vasculosus is a well circumscribed, dome shaped bright red compressible swelling present on any part of the body. However, it is very commonly seen around eyes, ears, nose or mouth. Sometimes the naevus is entirely located subcutaneously without any superficial components when the overlying skin may appear normal.
TREATMENT: As most of the lesions disappear spontaneously, treatment should be conservative. If at any time the lesions get traumatized, bleeding should be stopped immediately by putting pressure on the site of trauma. If infection occurs in the lesion, it should be treated by appropriate homoeopathic medicines. Homoeopathic treatment requires a deep constitutional analysis. The history of the disease, the family medical history, physical and mental characteristics of the patient, the likes and dislikes, medication details are all taken into consideration. This approach stands in consonance with the homoeopathic convention
