Anal itching is a common condition. The itch, situated in or around our anus, is often intense and may be accompanied by a strong urge to scratch.

SYMPTOMS OF ANAL ITCHING

Anal itching may be associated with: 

1. Redness
2. Burning and,
3. Soreness.

The itching and irritation may be temporary or more persistent, depending on the cause.

CAUSES OF ANAL ITCHING

 Possible causes of anal itching include:

• Irritants
• Our skin care routine may include products or behaviors that irritate the skin, such as using harsh soaps or moist wipes and washing too aggressively.
• Infections
• These include sexually transmitted infections,
• pinworms, and yeast infections.
• Skin conditions-psoriasis or contact dermatitis.
• Other medical conditions- diabetes, thyroid disease, hemorrhoids & anal tumors.

1. Teucrium Marum Verum – Very useful for anal itching caused by pinworms.There is an increase of anal itching in the evening with restlessness.Also very useful when itching may increase after the passing of stool.Also useful for itching anus caused from ascarides.

2. Nux Vomica : Useful for anal itching with piles.There is an ineffectual urge to pass stool. There is need to pass stool very frequently but it passes in very small quantity at a time.There is burning sensation in anus while passing stool.

3. Ratanhia : Very effective medicine for anal itching caused by anal fissures.There is cracking in the anus.Useful for itching burning sensation in the anal area which is better after washing with cold water.

4. Sulphur : Very effective medicine for anal itching which is accompanied by redness and soreness in anus.There is burning sensation in the anus.Very useful when there is alteration in Diarrhea and constipation
