BANKI SYNDROME

Banki Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder characterized by abnormal curvature of fingers, thinning of diaphysis, fusion of certain wrist bones like lunate and cuneiform bones and other hand abnormalities. This is reported in a single Hungarian family in which members of 3 generations.

SIGN AND SYMPTOMS OF BANKI SYNDROME

• Fusion of certain wrist bones.
• Abnormal curvature of digits.
• Thin middle section of long bones.
• Brachydactyly: Shortness of finger or toes
• Clinodactyly of the 5th finger: permanently curvature of fifth finger.

DIAGNOSIS OF BANKI SYNDROME

X-RAY of wrist and foot may show deformity and fusion.

Calcarea Ostrearum: Curvature of bones, especially spine and long bones; extremities crooked, deformed; bone irregularly developed. Head sweats profusely while sleeping, wetting pillow far around.
