POLYPS IN THE EAR

An aural polyp is a growth in the outside (external) ear canal or middle ear. It may be attached to the eardrum (tympanic membrane), or it may grow from the middle ear space.

CAUSES.

• Aural polyps may be caused by:

• Cholesteatoma
• Foreign object
• Inflammation
• Tumor

SYMPTOMS

• Bloody drainage from the earis the most common symptom.
• Hearing loss can also occur.
• Tinnitus
• Something stuck feeling in the ears

DIAGNOSIS:  EAR EXAMINATION VIA OTOSCOPE

HOMOEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT

Few homoeopathic remedies are as followed:

Calcarb - Throbbing; cracking in ears; stitches; pulsating pain as if something would press out. Deafness from working in water. Polypi which bleed easily. Scrofulous inflammation with muco-purulent otorrhśa, and enlarged glands.

Thuja-  discharge purulent. Creaking when swallowing. Polypi.

Merc  - Thick, yellow discharge; fetid and bloody. Otalgia, worse warmth of bed; at night sticking pains. Boils in external canal

Phosphorus - Hearing difficult, especially to human voice. Re-echoing of sounds 

Lycopodium - Humming and roaring with hardness of hearing; every noise causes peculiar echo in ear.
