SWELLING OF THE FACE – OEDEMATOUS FEELING

Facial swelling is the buildup of fluid in the tissues of the face. Swelling may also affect the neck and upper arms.

CAUSES:

  • Allergic reaction (allergic rhinitis, hay fever, or a bee sting)
  • Angioedema
  • Blood transfusion reaction
  • Cellulitis
  • Head, nose, or jaw surgery
  • Injury or trauma to the face (such as a burn)
  • Malnutrition (when severe)
  • Obesity
  • Salivary gland disorders
  • Sinusitis
  • Stye with swelling around the infected eye
  • Tooth abscess

Common symptoms of facial swelling include redness, facial pain, and wheezing.

  • Fever
  • Facial pain
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Watery, itchy eyes
  • Skin sores or pus-filled bumps

FROM BEE STINGS- CARBOLIC ACID, LACH, LEDUM.

APIS –   swelling and redness on the face. They have marked burning sensation on the face attending it. Along with this, one feels intense stinging pain on the face. Mostly right side of the face is affected when this medicine is required. The face looks pale and waxy. Puffiness is marked under the eyes.

Belladonna- facial swelling with red, hot and shiny face. There may be excessive sweating on the face with tearing pain in the face especially on the right side.

Calcarea Carb - pale and puffy face. The eyes are sunken surrounded with blue rings. 

Merc Sol -  swollen cheeks along with toothache and increased salivation.  Persons needing it may also have red cheeks along with puffy, bloated face.
